Community Ancestor Feast

Ritual traditions for honoring our ancestors are universal among earth-honoring peoples across the globe. While obviously, many important and distinct cultural specifics evolve in relationship to place for various peoples, there is also great common ground to be found in these ways. Through tending relationship with our benevolent gone-before-ones, we can gather strength, guidance, and a sense of essential continuity as we face the challenges of our times

Honoring Our Beloved Dead

a Celebrational Community Potluck Ancestor Feast
Sunday, November 2nd, 5:30pm sharp

Here in the Northern hemisphere, this is a time of lengthening nights. Trees are preparing to dream, we put our gardens to rest, and hibernating animals are snuggling in for winter. We are also interwoven with these rhythms. Throughout many lands and cultures, this time is marked by honoring the ancestors - with song, ceremony, stories, food, and light! Please join us for a community celebration to gather strength in these times of Great Change.

A Potluck Dish to Honor Your Ancestors

There are many ways to do this - and, ideally, it can be joyous. You can make a food from your own specific ancestry(ies). Even if you didn’t grow up familiar with traditional foods, this is a great way to deepen and expand relationship with cultural traditions. It could also be something that a specific ancestor really liked. PLEASE INCLUDE a clearly written ingredients card to go beside your potluck dish and bring your own serving utensil (to avoid cross-contamination) so that we can keep each other safe around food sensitivities. If it is a warm dish, please bring it already warm.

Your Own Place Setting

Including a plate, bowl, cup/mug, silverware, and napkins.
