Welcome to Luna

Welcome to a community that honors the moon and works with the medicines and practices of our Luna Kit, to listen for her guidance and receive relational healing, as our ancestors have done for many thousands of years. In the hidden sanctuary of the Luna Circle, we will explore the depth, power, stories ,and practices related to Luna to support our personal and collective journeys of reclamation and redirection in these times.

Remembering the Flow of the Medicines

Before moving on to the many layers of teachings, stories, and practices related to Luna that I will roll out over the next couple of months, I thought we’d take a moment to revisit the medicines that make up the kit (as well as what lunar phase they each correspond to). This information is also in your Moonsongs booklet, but I thought it would be nice to also have it gathered here for ease and reference. So, first we’ll revisit the foundational medicines and practices and then, below that, we’ll move on to the bodies of teachings, songs, and stories as each lunar phase unfolds. I hope you enjoy this gift and experiment and that it helps all of us deepen and clarify our intuition and direction at this crossroads in Earth’s history.

We all have a sacred role to play in the healing of our beloved world - may Luna help you stay connected to yours.

Cathedral of Stars

a Medicine of
Reclamation and Receptivity

Cathedral of Stars is a medicine of reclamation, quietude, and sanctuary that works with a combination of sacred trees, dreaming plants, and starlight to bless and protect the thresholds to our homes and to our bodies - marking them both as inviolate sacred space, deserving of reverence and sovereignty.

To work with Cathedral of Stars:

This medicine is a concentrate - a very small amount is needed for each use. Be sure your stopper is secure, shake well, mix 1 teaspoon into 8oz of water (ideally in a clear glass so that you can see the beauty) and then:

Bless your doorways - touch your fingers to the elixir and start at the top of the doorway or windows, working from the top down, at the points of entry to your space. You can do this for all points of entry to your home, or focus on a given room - the dreaming temple of your bedroom, or the place where you bathe, for example.

Bless your body - touching your fingers to the elixir and then to your body, starting at the top of your head, then your eyes, your mouth, your heart, etc, all the way down to your feet. Alternately, after blessing your thresholds, you can pour the starry elixir into your bath and do your body blessing that way.

Soar

a Medicine
for Clear Sight

Soar is a Medicine for Clear Sight and a contemporary take on a ancient flying ointment. Flying Ointments of Old were made with botanical ingredients and rubbed on the body to facilitate a dream state that allowed for astral travel, distance healing, and shapeshifting. Soar works with traditional lucid dreaming plants and elixirs to engage the full scope of our senses , bypass distractions, and help us see our clear path.

Relationship with the imaginal realm, the capacity to see clearly and dream beyond, is something our ancestors have honored and protected for thousands of years. The art and skill of dreaming is not only part of our sacred inheritance, but part of our practical liberation.

To work with Soar Flying Ointment:

Before bed or a Dream Entry, place a small amount of Soar in the center of your palms, rub your hands together to warm and distribute the balm. Once warmed, place your hands over your face, including your eyes, and breathe deeply.

If you are longing for insight or direction about something specific, now is a good time to issue a request for clarity and guidance - and then carry that willingness to receive into your dreaming practice/experience.

Guardian

a Medicine for
Sacred Boundaries and Protection

Guardian is a Medicine of Relational Protection. Correlating with the luminous shield of the full moon, and drawing on the practice of traditional warding salts. Guardian wards off intrusive forces, thoughts, and energies, quieting down external noise and helping us remember the feeling and experience of inner sovereignty.

As a sort of twin mirror to Cathedral of Stars’ dark moon medicine, Guardian also supports the space for softening and deep alignment by affording a sound and luminous container of protection. These salts shimmer with vibrant green cedar and moon kissed silver mica - just opening the jar is a truly magical experience.

I carried these medicines out under the light of the December Full Moon and allowed them time to sing to each other in call and response. I think you can feel that in their potency.

To work with Guardian Warding Salts:

Open the jar, breathe deep of the glorious forested scent, and then take a tiny pinch of the shimmering salts to sprinkle across the entries to your home/space.

Traditionally, all points of entry (windows and doors) would be blessed this way and you only need a tiny bit - such potent medicine is resonant and it’s a vibe you are summoning.

Descent

Mycelial Dream Mist
the Medicine of Release

Descent is a medicine of willing surrender and softening through letting go. This medicine and the corresponding lineage healing song (we can’t wait to share the recording soon!) was inspired by a stroll through a centuries old yew-strewn graveyard in Ireland during a September visit. There is something so important about remembering the sweetness of release blessed and supported by the natural flow of time.

Realigning with the inherent cyclicity of nature helps us let go - of what no longer serves, of fearful ego interference, and of the illusion of separation. Restoring connection with cyclical time, the rhythm of the seasons, and movement of the moon brings greater ease to our psyches and our bodies. It also allows us deeper access to our dreams, intuition, and instincts.

The interweaving of pine, amber, and the resonant medicines in Descent is reminiscent of…

The song of soil, sweet decay, softening, letting go, and learning with mycelial luminosity.

To work with Descent:

Simply mist the pillow, dream space, and/or body for dream time and/or during a relaxing bath.

Dark Moon - Capricorn to Aquarius - January 18, 2026 - Hidden Sanctuary

This month’s Dark Moon teaching focuses on the resplendent medicine of the Hazel Tree. While I have been a student of ancient tree medicine for many decades now, I stepped more deeply into relationship with the uncanny ability of Hazel to hide necessary sanctuary in plain sight while on my visit to Ireland last September. I will go into more detail in the oral teaching below, I want to start by acknowledging the Spirit of Place that made this medicine possible and share some images from the wild moonscape type environment of the Burren and the sacred, secret, sanctuary hidden in plain sight by the guardian Hazel Trees.

Waxing Moon - Relational Visioning

Any of you who know my/our work know that we are big on relational sensibilities and ways of being. This is the way of the earth and it absolutely drains us to lose sight of this foundational truth. This month, in reflecting on Soar - the flying ointment in your Luna Kit, I wanted to share these images of making the medicine with you because I was blown away by the process. Sometimes, medicines simply make themselves through you - or me - making use of my listening and my hands to do their bidding. This was the case with Soar (and most of Luna, truly). What you see below is the ointment when melted together to emulsify and then - it turning into an expanding universe (WHAT?!) as it cooled and “set up”, or solidified. You have to understand, I have been making balms and ointments for over forty years and I have never, in all of these years, seen a medicine do this. I hope your dreaming has been powerful with Soar - mine sure has.
