Forest Home Winter Medicine Kit

Medicine from the Earth - Nourishment, Mending, and Strength-Building

This kit brings the fortifying, deep, rich strength of the Earth into our bodies, homes, families, and communities. Seamlessly weaving a blend of old-school kitchen/culinary medicines and remedies to aid with the ailments and tests of both winter and the taxation of our times.

Forest Dweller Balsam and Spice Immune-Boosting Chai - 12 oz. by volume

This tea is a wonderful, warming, immune-boosting blend that weaves the fortitude of the north woods with the warming sun of India. It helps to simultaneously calm and invigorate.

All organic ingredients: wildcrafted balsam fir needles, black tea, cinnamon chips, cardamom, marigold petals, tellicherry peppercorns, and cloves.

Instructions: 1-2 tsps per 8 oz boiling water - warm your cup with hot water while bringing tea water to a boil - steep chai for 10 minutes, lift tea leaves, and add honey (or preferred sweetener) and cream/plant milk.

Jaga’s Hut - Strong Bones Mineral Vinegar - 16 oz.

This formula does so much to protect our health. A simple and outstanding daily nutritive supplement that not only serves as a concentrated source of the minerals we need but also helps us to better absorb the minerals already present in our meals. Minerals are best drawn into vinegar as a medium and are essential to every aspect of our health.

All organic ingredients: apple cider vinegar and seasonal mineral-rich green herbs (winter 2025 blend is made from red raspberry leaves and lamb’s quarters).

Instructions: one tablespoon daily works wonders to boost our vitality and endurance. If you are a vinegar lover (they are among us) you can pop one tablespoon into a glass of water to sip before or through your mealtime. I’ve found that most people prefer their tablespoon of goodness integrated into soups, stews, salad dressings, etc.

Important note: while you can eat this potion in warm/hot foods, you don’t want to cook it. Please stir your spoonful into hot foods once you serve them.

Dark Forest Bitters - 2 oz.

Rich and earthy, this wonderful potion is both, a beautiful stand-alone that warms the body and stimulates digestion, and an excellent addition to winter mocktails, cocktails, and warm beverages.

All organic ingredients: brandy, cacao nibs, roasted chicory and dandelion root, double processed reishi mushroom, red rose petals, cardamom, clove, orange peel, vanilla bean, and elderberries.

Instructions: take two droppers full on the tongue or sip in a glass of water (sparkling is fine) before your meal. Add to warm tea or cocoa any time of night or day or enjoy in mocktails and cocktails

Bone-Deep Medicinal Healing Soak - 32 oz.

Great for addressing fevers, aches, and general winter doldrums or malaise. A blend of healing herbs and salts, Bone Deep can be used in a bath, shower scrub, or medicinal and revitalizing foot soak. That said, if you are feeling on the edge of getting sick I strongly recommend that you take the darn medicinal bath and then take yourself to bed.

Organic/wildcrafted ingredients: cedar, yarrow, birch leaves, red roses - sea salt, epsom salt.

Instructions: make a strong “tea” by placing 1/2 - 1 cup of the mixture into a quart jar, pouring boiling water over it, covering it and letting it infuse for at least a half hour. You can either pour this infused potion through a strainer (I like the herbs floating in the tub with me) straight into the tub, into a large bowl for foot soaking, and/or pouring it into something non-breakable that you can take into the shower with you to wash vigorously from head to toe.

Juniper Cleansing Smoke Stick

A traditional blessing and cleansing plant of my own, and many other ancestral lands, I have harvested, blessed, and imbued these bundles with care every step of the way.

Earthbound Healing Salve - 2 oz.

This salve brings the deep mending of the earth’s rich green plant kin to relieve itching, bruising, cuts (once cleaned), cracking, and dry skin.

All organic ingredients: olive oil, slow infused with comfrey, violet, and cleaver leaves

Ruby Fire - Pomegranate Hibiscus Immune-Boosting Fire Cider - 8 oz.

Ruby red, tart, spicy, and sweet - this gem calls on the medicine of both the deep roots of the earth and the warming fire of the sun, to warm our bodies and beings right to the bone. Just what we need to get through the winter.

All organic ingredients - raw apple cider vinegar, raw local honey, horse radish root, onion, garlic, chili pepper, thyme, pomegranate, rosehips, and hibiscus.

Instructions - 1 tsp daily as desired and/or 4 x daily when on the edge or already ill.

Mother Elder - Warming Spice Immune Tonic - 8 oz.

This is a beautiful, earthy, and warming tonic to support optimal immunity through the winter months and/or any time you feel rundown. It will not only strengthen immunity but can ward off or shorten the stay of illness should it encroach. Unlike syrups, as an alcohol-based preparation, Elder & Spice has a very long and stable shelf life.

All organic ingredients - vodka, elderberries, cinnamon sticks, and fresh ginger root.

Instructions - 1 tsp daily will serve as a fabulous immune support tonic. Stepping it up to 2-4 tsps daily will help ward off the onset of illness.

Warm and nourishing, this formula is a superb digestive aid bitters that is golden light in a bottle.

A beautiful resonant medicine that brings the golden light of right relationship, interconnection, interconnection, and a sense of belonging into our daily lives.

Resonant medicines help us to bring our own vibe into harmony with the generous and resplendent vibe (resonance) of this gorgeous garden in space called earth. As a culture-mending medicine, Mutual Regard helps us to dismantle systems of violence (within us and in the world) and reconnect with our ancestral inheritance of a culture of common sovereignty - a culture in which the sanctity of every presence on earth is properly honored. Luna

Luna is a new offering in our collection this year, and I am truly excited to share these medicines with you. Each medicine corresponds to one of four lunar phases and supports us in aligning with the rhythms of the moon to bring about necessary and desired change in our lives. Luna came into being through pure magic.

I traveled across the ocean to ancestral lands for the first time in my life this year, and it took all of that to have me fall head over heels in love with the moon - again. You have to understand, I have studied and taught about the Moon for decades. The Moon and divine femme archetypes. The Moon and our bodies. The Moon and gardening, divination, mathematics, rhythms of dreaming, relational governance, and so on. But here I was, in the company of seals, gobsmacked and wonderstruck, like a child, witnessing the power of her magnetism to sway entire oceans. A phenomenon I hadn’t really lived with, and, in its presence, I was changed.

From Cathedral of Stars right through to the Moonsongs booklet, in truth, these unbelievably gorgeous medicines practically made themselves. I can only take credit for listening (and following instructions). The songs, the potions, the teachings flowed right through me as the earth and the moon engaged in conversation, and I did my best to keep up. In fact, so many teachings and experiences are interwoven into this medicine that I am trying an experiment this year and adding another dimension to Luna - I will be rolling out a series of recorded songs and teachings over the dark of winter to accompany the Luna kit. They will be housed on a beautifully curated webpage that Luna babes will have access to.

Cathedral of Stars - a Medicine of Reclamation and Receptivity

Cathedral of Stars is a medicine of reclamation, quietude, and sanctuary. As a threshold blessing for both the body and the home, it fosters receptivity that serves as a portal to sanctuary. Because sanctuary, the space to rest, dream, listen deeply, and remember, is a birthright. This medicine correlates with the Dark Moon lunar phase, honoring the quietude of darkness as a time for allowing what is past to decompose and become fertile soil from which our luminous dream seeds will grow.

Cathedral of Stars works with a combination of sacred trees, dreaming plants, and starlight to bless and protect the thresholds to our homes and to our bodies - marking them both as inviolate sacred space, deserving of reverence and sovereignty.

Soar - a Medicine for Clear Sight

Soar is a Medicine for Clear Sight and my take on a modern flying ointment. Flying Ointments of Old were magical unguents or balms made with botanical ingredients and rubbed onto the body to facilitate a dream state and induce clear, far-seeing vision. Traditionally, they allowed for astral travel, distance healing, and shapeshifting. This medicine correlates with the waxing lunar phase - a time of growing light that enables us to see. I am skipping the poisonous botanicals and working with traditional lucid dreaming plants and elixirs to engage the full scope of our senses and help us see our clear path to right relationship in these times of noise and distraction.

This is a 2-oz potent balm in a black glass jar that will last up to a year.

Guardian - a Medicine for Sacred Boundaries and Protection

Guardian is a Medicine of Relational Protection. Correlating with the luminous shield of the full moon, and drawing on the practice of traditional warding salts, Guardian wards off intrusive forces, thoughts, and energies, quieting down external noise and helping us remember the feeling of inner sovereignty.

As a sort of twin mirror to Cathedral of Stars’ dark moon medicine, Guardian also supports the space for softening and deep alignment by affording a container of protection.

Descent Mycelial Dream Mist is a medicine of willing surrender and softening through letting go. It was the Moonflower herself who nudged me to make this medicine as they were leaning into my home like never before. Willing Heart offers a blessing on our powers of perception, our receptivity, and our faith in the continuity of beauty in life on earth.
